Important Disclaimers — Please Read

Estimates only, not engineering advice: All calculations, cost estimates, battery sizings, and electrical accessory recommendations on SolarMate.pk are for general informational and planning purposes only. They do not constitute professional engineering advice, licensed electrical design, or a formal quotation. Solar system design involves site-specific factors (roof orientation, shading, cable runs, structural load, etc.) that no online tool can fully assess.

Always consult a professional: Before making any purchasing or installation decision, always consult a NEPRA-certified solar installer or licensed electrical engineer. SolarMate.pk accepts no liability for any decisions, losses, damages, or injuries arising from reliance on information or estimates provided on this platform.

Installer directory: SolarMate.pk acts solely as a technology platform connecting users with independent solar installers. We perform basic CNIC identity verification only — this does not constitute an endorsement, professional certification check, or guarantee of workmanship quality, pricing, or business legitimacy. Any contract or payment is solely between the customer and the installer. SolarMate.pk bears no responsibility for any outcome of that engagement.

Pricing data: PKR cost ranges are based on aggregated market data and are updated periodically. Actual prices vary by brand, location, supplier, and timing. Use our estimates as a planning guide only — always obtain formal quotes from at least 3 installers before committing.

Regulatory compliance: Solar installation in Pakistan is subject to NEPRA regulations, DISCO-specific net-metering rules, and local building codes. It is your responsibility and your installer's responsibility to comply with all applicable regulations. SolarMate.pk does not provide legal or regulatory advice.

Frequently asked questions

عام سوالات

Is SolarMate really 100% free?

Yes — all four tools (solar calculator, battery calculator, electrical accessories tool, and installer directory) are completely free for homeowners and businesses. SolarMate is funded by verified installers who pay a lead fee when they receive a quote request from you. You never pay SolarMate anything.

How accurate are the cost estimates?

Estimates are based on aggregated 2026 Pakistan market rates for Tier-1 solar panels, hybrid inverters, and lithium battery banks. They are indicative planning figures — actual installer quotes will vary by brand, city, roof type, and supply chain at the time of purchase. Always get at least 3 installer quotes before committing.

Do I need to create an account?

No account is needed for any of the four tools. The solar calculator, battery calculator, and electrical accessories tool all work anonymously. Only submitting a quote request to an installer requires your name and phone number — and that information goes directly to the installer, not stored as a public profile.

What's the difference between On-Grid, Hybrid, and Off-Grid?

Hybrid (our default recommendation for Pakistan) keeps you connected to WAPDA while providing battery backup during load-shedding. On-Grid has no battery — cheaper, but no backup. Off-Grid is fully independent of WAPDA — suitable only for remote locations. The calculator recommends the best type based on your load and city.

How does payback period work?

Payback is calculated as (total system cost) ÷ (annual electricity bill savings + net-metering income). Typical range in Pakistan is 5–8 years. After payback, the next 20+ years of generation is essentially free electricity. The calculator shows a conservative estimate — actual payback may be faster if electricity tariffs continue rising.

What is net-metering and does the calculator include it?

Net-metering allows you to export surplus solar energy back to WAPDA and receive credit on your bill. The calculator includes net-metering savings where it applies. Your DISCO (distribution company) has specific net-metering application requirements — your installer can guide you through the NEPRA net-metering application process.

How are installers verified?

SolarMate performs basic identity verification (CNIC check) on every installer application. This is an identity check only — it does not assess technical competency, financial reliability, workmanship quality, or business legitimacy. Always independently verify credentials, check references, review past work, and sign a detailed written contract before making any payment.

Can businesses and shops use SolarMate?

Yes — the calculator works for any load profile. Enter your commercial appliances (industrial ACs, machinery, lighting, etc.) and get a commercial-scale system estimate. For very large systems (above 50 kW), we recommend requesting an on-site engineering assessment from a NEPRA-certified firm in addition to using the calculator as a planning guide.

Ready to size your solar system?

Free. No signup. Results in under 2 minutes. Works for homes, shops, factories & farms.
