SolarMate.pk ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and your rights as a user. By using SolarMate.pk, you consent to the practices described in this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information:

a) Information You Provide Voluntarily

• Name, phone number, email address, and city (when submitting a quote request)
• Appliance selections and electricity bill amount (used only for calculations)
• Installer registration details (name, business name, city, contact info)
• Any messages or feedback you send us

b) Information Collected Automatically

• IP address and approximate location (city/region level only)
• Browser type, device type, and operating system
• Pages visited, time spent, and clicks (via Google Analytics)
• Referring website or source

c) Calculator Usage Data

Appliance selections and bill entries you make in our calculators are processed locally in your browser to generate results. We do not store individual calculator sessions unless you explicitly submit a quote request form.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected for the following purposes:

• To provide and improve our solar calculator and ECMS tools
• To connect you with verified solar installers when you request a quote
• To respond to your enquiries and support requests
• To analyse Platform usage and improve user experience (via Google Analytics)
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or illegal activity
• To comply with applicable laws of Pakistan

3. Sharing of Your Information

We do not sell your personal information to any third party. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

• With Installers: If you submit a quote request, your name, city, phone number, and system requirements will be shared with relevant verified installers to enable them to contact you. You consent to this when submitting the form.
• With Service Providers: We use Supabase (database), Google Analytics (usage analytics), and other infrastructure providers who process data on our behalf under strict data processing terms.
• For Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or government authority in Pakistan, including under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016.
• Business Transfer: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the same privacy protections.

4. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use our Platform. Google Analytics collects anonymised usage data such as pages visited, session duration, and device type. This data is processed by Google LLC in accordance with their Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by Pakistani law. Quote request data is typically retained for up to 12 months. You may request earlier deletion at any time (see Section 7).

6. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), secure database storage, and restricted access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You provide your information at your own risk.

7. Your Rights

As a user, you have the right to:

• Request access to the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
• Request deletion of your personal data
• Withdraw consent to be contacted by installers
• Object to processing of your data for marketing purposes

8. Cookies

SolarMate.pk uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience and collect analytics data. By continuing to use the Platform, you consent to our use of cookies. You can control cookie settings through your browser. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of certain features.

9. Children's Privacy

SolarMate.pk is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

10. Third-Party Links

Our Platform may contain links to third-party websites (e.g., installer websites). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those websites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of every website you visit.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Platform after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.

12. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, including the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016 and any applicable data protection regulations. Any disputes shall be resolved under the jurisdiction of the courts of Pakistan.
